Crush Mini 3-watt Micro Amp - Orange
Orange • Guitars
"The Orange Crush Mini amplifier is a popular choice for guitarists seeking a highly portable practice amp. The words 'portable' and 'practice' are important clarifiers here, though. This mini marvel has a great aesthetic with the classic Orange vinyl Tolex look and it can achieve surprising volume. Is it a viable amplifier in the classic sense? I would have to say no. However, for a solid-state 3-watt amplifier with a 4-inch speaker; I'd say it makes an excellent option for both practice or portability and possibly for use in certain studio circumstances. This practical practice amp is durable and well-built. It's meant to take a beating. On top of that, its power is supplied by either a 9V battery or a DC power supply. Personally, I'd invest in some rechargeable 9V batteries to make this amplifier truly portable. Interestingly enough, as well, there is no power switch. The instrument jack is effectively the power switch. What I mean is that the act of plugging your instrument in will turn on the power to the amp. This means you must unplug the cable in order to cut power to the amp. I haven't decided whether or not this is a good thing, but it does seem like excess wear on the input jack. Now, the controls on the Crush Mini are powerful for how limited they are. The Volume is certainly impressive for its size, but I wouldn't expect it to compete with acoustic drums; although there is an 8 Ohm speaker output if you need it. Next, is the Shape knob. This knob sweeps through typical EQ curves ranging from a "scooped" metal sound to a more typical midrange rock sound. Then you have the Gain knob, which can go from clean to a super saturated distortion. For only 3 knobs, you have quite a vastly achievable range. I think that's pretty impressive. When you add in the Headphone output and the built-in tuner, this novel amplifier is almost impossible not to own considering its price. I dig it."

LX1 Little Martin Acoustic Guitar - Natural
Martin • Guitars
"Even though there are musicians in my family, I was alway more interested in technology. Well I decided to pick up this guitar as a way to get started and to have something to pass down to my daughter. Happy to say she is more like her mom, and promises to be a talented little musician. Happy to have this guitar, it sounds great and plays easy. My daughter is looking forward to inheriting it!"
